It came back on me again. The old “you don’t know who you know” lesson of relationships.
I was in a meeting with a group of clients the other day when it hit. They were a group of Arlington, Texas, merchants in a shopping center looking for some marketing guidance. as each business person introduced themselves I learned about how old their companies were, who they served and so on. When it came time for the karate studio master to speak, a flood of recognition came over me as he told his story.
He related how he had started this studio about 5 years ago after spending time in Minnesota. In the Minneapolis area he had helped a friend open and establish a like-named karate studio. Lo and behold, his friend’s studio was the same studio my sons and their mom had been students of back a dozen years ago or so. While their paths had not crossed directly, we had common ground and the conversation was easier.
Always remember that you never know who you will work with or for in the lifetime and never is a long time that sometimes ends.
Relentless
