In a recent OpEd piece in the New York Times, Thomas L. Friedman opined that while are experiencing the Great Recession we are also in the midst of The Great Inflection.
His examples in the story (http://www.nytimes.com/2009/12/13/opinion/13friedman.html?_r=1) bring to mind that we all have the strength of our networks to sustain us. The story of Greer & Associates in Minneapolis producing a video for a non-profit organization for 20 percent of what they would normally budget is not only a reflection of our repressed times. It is also a great illustration of what we all need to practice: connectedness. They found voice talent through an on-line group of sources. Scripts were reviewed with familiar writers in their network on line. Communication was direct.
As skilled networkers, we should consider this example. Who do you know? Can you contact them and take advantage of their talents quickly? Can you return the favor or business?
Churning and keeping in touch with your network puts immeasurable resources at your disposal. Make sure to keep the machine well oiled.
Relentless
