Style

At a recent speaking engagement at the Tower Club, I met a custom clothier.

Dustin Donley works independently and after my presentation he gave me a few tips to help my speaking style. Among his ideas:

  1. The next time you purchase a suit, you should look at getting one with side vents. A lot of speakers occasionally put their hands in their pants pockets and side vents keep one’s rear end covered.
  2. Always button your coat when standing.  Whether you are speaking or just standing to walk across the room button your coat.  It keeps you looking sharp and not sloppy.

Now, these ideas probably fit better with male speakers, but the point is still the same: pay attention to your look, your style, how you stand, how you walk.

Good stuff, Dustin (www.legacyclothiers.com).

Relentless
