The terminology may not be precisely right, but you get the idea: your image, bio and other details of your professional life are out there in cyberspace.
For example, you change your LinkedIn profile in any way and your whole network (”connections”) gets a notification.
So, tread lightly and take care.
But that is not to say one can’t manage their image out there. In fact you must. If you don’t others will make the impression for you. So be sure and:
- Update and keep your LinkedIn profile current. Make it match your resume.
- Keep photos and posts correct on Facebook. Have the same job info on all sites.
- Make sure your Twitter profile and identity are consistent.
- Same goes for SlideShare, Flickr, and YouTube: be consistent, consistent, consistent.
Your reputation and your digital image are intertwined. Travel cyberspace with care.
